"older

Sometimes love could find you dating a man older than you are and for such a relationship to work, there have to be certain factors you shouldn’t take for granted.

These are some tips you should know when dating an older man.

1. BE YOURSELF

He saw you and he liked you for a reason, so that means you shouldn’t be under pressure to impress him. Be yourself around him, no need trying to be someone else or live a life of pretence. He is much older and experienced in life, so he wouldn’t appreciate you being fake when with him; older men need total originality from their women.

2. CUT OFF EVERY ACT OF CHILDISHNESS

Men like these want a stable relationship and wouldn’t have time for childish acts, immature behaviours and unnecessary things. Not that you shouldn’t have a playful side or be fun to be with, but all those annoying childish attitude should be cut off.

3. DON’T GET INTIMIDATED

You are in your 20’s and he’s in his 40’s or 50’s; he would most likely be richer than you. While you are trying to start your life, he is way more settled in life and planning for bigger things even. But, you shouldn’t get intimidated by his wealth; be yourself in spite of it and never act desperate or act like you are with him just for the money — this is one thing he would definitely want to find out.

4. HIS FRIENDS

His friends are a big part of his life and he would want you to accept them; these are people who have probably been loyal to each other over the years and have been there for each other. So, you ought to treat them nicely and hang out with them when the need arises.

5. HIS WORK TIME SHOULD BE RESPECTED

Older men don’t joke with their work; they know how hard they have worked to be where they are, so they don’t take it slightly. Never make him choose between work and you. Come off it. Even though you are the most important person in his life, he might still put work ahead of you on certain occasions.

6. ACCEPT HIM TOTALLY

Accept him for who he is, accept his mistakes, accept his life as it is and don’t try to change or control him. Love him just the way he is.

7. NEVER SEE HIM AS OLD

This is one mistake you should never make; he never wants you to see him as an old man.

8. BE SUPPORTIVE OF HIM

Support him where necessary; if he has bigger ambitions, be there for him and give him the needed support for him to be better. He would surely appreciate this.

9. LEARN TO UNDERSTAND HIM

Older men are less complicated than younger men; they mostly have a pattern of living their life. All you need to do is study and understand him better and you would make all the right decisions.

10. HE WOULD MOST LIKELY ENJOY SOME OLD-FASHIONED TRAITS

Older men would love a woman who is respectful, who listens to him and who can do her bit in the home domestically.

Dating an older man might not be as fun as being with a younger man, but it might me much more stable if you know how to live with him and enjoy every bit of him.
