"confident

Anybody can be an entrepreneur, but not all persons can be good entrepreneurs. Being a good entrepreneur goes beyond wanting to own a business and owning one, there are codes or a set of rules that you got to live by in order to be a successful entrepreneur. Check out some of these codes…

1. YOU MUST BE A CREATIVE THINKER

Being a good entrepreneur involves thinking in a way that normal people do not; you have to think outside the box always, because that is the only way that you’ll come up with ideas that are unique.

2. IMBIBE THE ‘DO IT NOW’ SPIRIT

Being a good entrepreneur means being ready to go always. Be sure to do what you have to do immediately, and avoid procrastination, because time waits for nobody, and an opportunity missed may never return.

3. HAVE GOALS

At any given time, you must have a set target that you need to achieve; could be a position you want to be or an amount of profit you want to make. Setting goals for yourself keeps you on your toes and makes you work hard.

4. SPEND WISELY AND SAVE FOR TOMORROW

There’ll always be unforeseen contingencies; that is why you must prepare yourself for them by saving some of the money you make today. Do not spend money on irrelevancies; only spend on things that will help your business grow.

5. THERE’S A THIN LINE BETWEEN AMBITION AND GREED

You want to achieve new heights and get to the top, but you also want to be careful so you do not lose everything and endanger your business while you’re at it. Greed is a killer; a handful of businesses have been destroyed by it.

6. BE HONEST

Nobody is going to do business with you again if after the first try, they realize that you’re a fraud. Be honest and truthful about the way you conduct business with your clients and partners.

7. AVOID UNNECESSARY BORROWING

Do not borrow money unless it’s necessary that you do so. Borrowing is easy in the beginning, but when it’s time to pay back, you almost regret it. It’s not a bad thing to borrow if it’s going to fetch you a lot of money, just don’t over-do it.

8. READ TO KNOW MORE

The greatest minds the world has ever known are (were) all habitual readers. Reading opens up your mind to more knowledge, and that is important if you want to be a successful entrepreneur. Read books, every book you can find, especially those that relate to your line of business.

9. HAVE A MENTOR

You can’t know it all. No one is an island of his or herself; there’ll be times when you need expert advise and help, that is why you must have someone you can run to at times like that. A mentor, someone you look up to and trust.

10. ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP PLAN

The thing about business is that it may not go as planned all the time, so you need to have a backup plan you can fall back on if things do not go right.

So you’ve seen it all. It’s not enough to read and know, always remember to apply every word/tip.
