"shower"

You must have probably had a shower today but do you really think you had a clean and healthy shower? You must have probably made some of these mistakes while you had a shower.

Here are 5 common mistakes you make when having a shower

1. SHOWERS ARE WAY TOO HOT

Having a shower that is way too hot is a mistake you should quit making. Having a very hot shower strips your skin of natural oils which help keep your skin moist by trapping water.

2. YOU DON’T APPLY LOTION IMMEDIATELY AFTER PATTING YOUR SKIN DRY

After patting your skin dry with your towel, it’s expected you apply a lotion to your skin immediately. This is important because your skin absorbs the lotion better when it’s a little damp.

3. YOU SCRUB YOUR SKIN TOO HARD

Scrubbing your skin too hard is a showering habit you need to discontinue. Scrubbing your skin too hard can remove your skin’s natural protective barrier. Ensure you take it easy on your skin while scrubbing.

4. YOU DON’T USE SOAP WITH MOISTURIZERS

Not using a bar of soap with moisturizers can dry out your skin. Going for moisturizing soaps should be encouraged.

5. YOU DON’T RINSE YOUR BODY PROPERLY

Don’t be in a hurry to leave the shower. Take your time and ensure all the soap and hair products are completely rinsed off. Not rinsing properly can lead to skin irritation and clogged pores.
