We’ve all heard how important it is to encourage our men as women, especially our husbands; but how many women really go on to encourage the men in their lives? How many women even know how to encourage and inspire their husbands?

You can encourage your husband by your words and your actions, but a lot of women do the contrary.

Below are ways you can encourage your husband.

1. SHOWER HIM WITH LOVE

There is no better way to encourage your man than to shower him with love; love shows care, love shows understanding, love shows that you are his biggest fan and would always stand by him — by merely loving him, you are encouraging him.

2. AVOID NAGGING AND UNNECESSARY CRITICISM

Nagging and criticising your man would only make matters worse in your marriage, and surprisingly, that’s what many women do. Nagging would kill the love, create disharmony and frequent quarrels and as well as make him feel bitter.

3. MAKE HIM FEEL RESPECTED

Your man would feel more confident when he knows he’s respected; however, continually disrespecting him would not only harm the marriage, but his confidence as well.

4. AN INSPIRATIONAL GIFT

Give him things that would inspire him as gift; an inspirational book, an audio book etc. Reading or listening to them can inspire him to be the best he can be, not only to himself but as a husband as well.

5. BELIEVE IN HIM

There is a strength that your man would get when he knows that someone truly believes in him. He needs to know that you trust and have faith in him 100 percent. This would totally spur him on.

6. THANK HIM FOR THE ONES HE’S DONE

Appreciate him for the efforts he’s put thus far in your life, his life and in the marriage. Appreciation is one of the best means of encouragement. When he knows that you appreciate him, he would definitely do more.

7. TALK ABOUT HIS DREAMS WITH HIM

Don’t be the type of woman who only demands things from her man. Talk about his dreams with him, listen to him and offer candid advice as well — he would love and appreciate you for this.

8. BE HONEST WITH YOUR ASSESSMENT

Just because you want to be nice to your man doesn’t mean you wouldn’t be honest with your assessment. Tell him the truth about his strengths and his weaknesses; don’t go about telling him what he’s not and he would love it.

9. PRAISE HIM IN PUBLIC

Every man loves this; this would definitely make him feel special and appreciated. Just as your complains can make him feel weak, your praise can be his strength.

10. BE HIS BIGGEST LISTENER AND CHEERLEADER

Everyone needs someone who would listen to them, and there is a huge difference between hearing someone and listening to them. Listen to your man and be his number one fan — and that my friend is a huge form of encouragement.

What have you done to encourage your man? Being a good wife means you should be an encouragement to your man.
