A lot of times, women choke men; I don’t mean literally, but in terms of relationships and marriage. Some women even choke men and aren’t aware that they are choking him or the implications of their actions.

Pressuring a man to marry you is a big example of choking a man; pressuring him for a relationship or an engagement is also an example of choking. These scenes happen a lot, not only in movies, but in reality as well.

Pressuring your man for marriage, an engagement or a relationship is never the ideal thing to do — it could backfire.

4 reasons you shouldn’t:

1. YOU LOOK DESPERATE

Desperation hardly ever brings any good benefit, even in relationships too. A marriage with one desperate partner would hardly ever excel, it creates room for controversies, misunderstanding, quarrels, fights and arguments with so many other relationship mishaps that could ruin the relationship. An act of desperation is always a wrong tactic and the next tip would explain better.

2. YOU LOSE YOUR WORTH IN THE PROCESS

The desperation a woman exerts when pressuring her man for an engagement or marriage would make her sell herself short. The more intense it becomes, the more vulnerable and desperate such a woman would appear. No man wants this; if you become too desperate for a man, instead of seeing the good in you, he could see the bad.

3. YOU MIGHT LOSE THAT MAN IN THE PROCESS

When you choke a man and become too desperate, you might end up losing that man, not because he never loved you but because your desperation might just make him have doubts. Every man wants to be sure he’s making the right decision when he’s getting married; marriage isn’t always an easy decision for a man, he loves to be ready first. There are better ways to influence him into thinking that he’s ready other than forcing or choking him, and that would make him want you the more. But when you apply the method of trying to coerce your man into marriage, you might end up chasing that man away.

4. YOU BECOME ANNOYING

A lot of women employ this tactic of pressuring their man into marriage, and they feel it’s the right step to making their man ready for marriage; coming from a man I’d call that bull***t. Almost every woman becomes annoying to a man when they seem desperate; the fact it has worked for a couple of ladies doesn’t mean it would work on most men. A desperate woman becomes annoying because she would be less caring, nag and pester a lot and employ all manner of antics that would make her seem rather annoying.

I still belong to that traditional school of thought which believes that the woman’s worth is at a higher level when she’s chased and not when she chases after a man. There is nothing wrong in wanting commitment from your man…it’s a good thing; but when you have to fight for it then it becomes an act of desperation.

If that man loves you, he wouldn’t want to let you go, and if you feel he wouldn’t commit to you it’s better to leave the relationship and keep your worth intact than fight for what probably might not be yours.
