"988989"There are certain ways you feel when you are with someone that you really have feelings for, and sometimes you just can’t explain how you feel and why you feel that way.

There are certain things that happen to our body chemistry when we are with someone we love and science has an explanation for that.

1. TESTOSTERONE INCREASES

When with that person that you admire, your testosterone level is fired up, and an increased testosterone level would further activate your desire to have sex. Research has found that men have five times more testosterone level than women.

2. NOREPINEPHRINE

The norepinephrine is believed to be responsible for that sudden gush or rush of blood in the body when with someone you have feelings for. Whenever you feel awkward just because you are with or close to someone you admire, the norepinephrine might just be at work. Though there hasn’t been extensive research done on this.

3. OXYTOCIN

Oxytocin is a hormone that stimulates the contraction of uterine muscle and the secretion of milk. The oxytocin is also believed to be responsible for the promotion of intimacy between couples. When you feel that desire to touch, kiss and cuddle, then that’s the oxytocin at work.

4. DOPAMINE

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter; it is a chemical messenger that helps in the transmission of signals in the brain and other vital areas. It is the love chemical in the brain. When we are in love, dopamine is released and makes us more passionate about that special person.

5. THE MHC

The Major Histocompatibility Complex (HMC) is a set of cell surface molecules encoded by a large gene family which controls a major part of the immune system in all vertebrates. In humans, the MHC is also called the human leukocyte antigen (HLA). Several studies have reported a tendency for humans to prefer MHC-dissimilar mates.

MHC is exuded in our bodies through sweat, saliva and body odour. It is believed that the more you differ in MHC levels the more attracted you would be to that person.

6. PHEROMONES

Pheromones are chemicals released by an organism into its environment enabling it to communicate with other members of its own species. They are believed to play a part in human sexual attraction.

When you fall in love with someone, you tend to get accustomed to their smell.
