Hello people, welcome to another edition of Elcrema Sunday Love Special, this time our emphasis is on beauty and looks and how important it is in choosing a relationship partner.

We got a message from a fan asking us if it’s possible to win a woman’s heart if he isn’t good looking. This made today’s edition of Sunday Love Special to focus on looks and its importance in relationship; are looks really important?

Drama and I (Shawn) would share our opinion, and we’d love to know yours too.

Drama

When it comes to matters of the heart, I like to look at the bigger picture, and for me, that involves what I can get from whoever I date other than the excitement that comes from her physical features. Yes, people want to be involved with someone that’s good looking.

Looks are attractive, but sometimes too much priority is given to physical beauty and more important things are ignored. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own ways, but it only takes the right person to notice–just as we are all flawed in certain ways as well. Some people look excellent on the outside, but attitude wise , they are ugly in every sense of the word; and there are others who aren’t all that physically attractive but are wonderful once you get to meet them, so for me, I don’t think the choice of a relationship partner should be centred primarily on outward beauty alone…It’s just a matter of finding the person who you can truly be happy to keep around for the longer-term; someone you can totally get (understand) just as they get you, someone you don’t just find attractive physically, but from the inside as well especially if you’re looking to take the relationship to another level because physical beauty will fade at some point; what will keep your relationship going will be the things that transcend the physical. Looks are good, but they are not the ultimate.

First, I won’t bluntly rule out what look does, after all we are first attracted to looks when we meet someone, but this doesn’t make looks an important criteria when choosing a relationship partner.

Relationships are way too serious for looks to have a deciding factor in choosing a partner. As far as relationships are concerned, it has more to do with the inward personality than what we see outside; we all should strive to have a relationship where compatibility would be built rather than mere physical attraction.

Looks, success, wealth and so many other factors are what catches the eye these days, but any relationship built on such factors hardly ever stands.

Also, one thing I’ve noticed is that you are as confident as you think you look; if you see yourself as one that’s not good looking, people would see you that way, if you see yourself as good looking, people would get attracted to you; it’s a confidence thing.

But I absolutely do think that looks shouldn’t be the priority as far as relationships are concerned.

That’s our take on this Sunday’s edition of Elcrema Sunday Love Special. Do you think looks are important?
