Your habits determine how far you will go in life. Successful people aren’t successful because they have a special life or brain; they are successful because they picked up successful habits along the line.
Many empires have been drained because it was taken over by people with the wrong mentality or habit.
Your habits can define who you truly are, and these habits below must be changed if you want to enjoy success.
1. DOUBTS
Whether you can or you can’t isn’t up to anyone to decide but you. Doubts will only paralyse your dreams and kill every vision you have within you. Success and doubts can’t mix; if you want to achieve success, you must kill doubt.
2. BEING CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK
People will always think, talk, act, criticise, condemn, appreciate, ridicule, encourage etc. People will always be people and whether they criticise or encourage you shouldn’t make you quit. People will always do what runs through their mind, why don’t you be you by following the path that’s right for you and care less what people say or do, because you can’t stop them from doing what they do but you can stop yourself from succeeding when you are concerned with what people say or do.
3. PROCRASTINATION
Procrastination has killed a lot of dreams, goals and visions. A lot of people took their dreams with them to the grave not because they couldn’t have achieved it, but because they kept procrastinating. You’d never start if you keep procrastinating, and how can you succeed when you can’t start? Waiting for the perfect opportunity is a huge lie that breeds procrastination, because no opportunity is indeed perfect; you make your opportunity perfect by working towards it.
4. FEAR
Fear is another success killer. The fear of failing, the fear of what people will say, the fear of it not going according to plan. Fear is even worse than them all, because with fear, even a lion will lose its throne in the jungle. A lot of lions have become mere cats because they were afraid of taking that bold step.
5. TALKING ONLY
Another common syndrome that links bad habits and failure is talking when you should be working. There are so many big dreamers in town, but the problem isn’t really the size of their dreams, but the fact that they only talk about the dream. No matter how much you talk about your dreams, it won’t be actualised if you don’t work towards it.
6. GIVING UP AT THE FIRST CHALLENGE
Even the dreams that have become a success was successful not because there weren’t challenges but because they had the willpower to overcome those challenges. Challenges never stop, even when you are at the top; people who get to the top still face and overcome challenges. The only place challenges don’t happen is in the grave. But if you want to remain alive and be successful, you must be ready to overcome challenges.
These habits will take you far away from success, no matter what you have in you. Fight them off and you’d be surprised at how far you can go.
