THESE KITCHEN TRICKS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND— HAVE A LOOK

Cooking is hell of fun, but sometimes, the fun can turn sour when things go wrong— like overcooking, and burning your food, or adding way too much salt (and spices), etc. Sounds familiar, right? Well, it turns out some of these things can actually be corrected. I stumbled on some cool info that can help you overcome some of those kitchen challenges you may have had to deal with. Have a look…

P.S: Some of these tips may seem ‘weird’.

1. RESTORING THE TASTE AND AROMA OF BURNT FOOD

You got absent-minded and burnt your food? Not to worry, this simple trick will help you get back the original taste and smell of the food before burning.

Simply, get a slice of bread, and throw it into the pot of food. The bread will absorb the annoying smell and taste that come with burning, leaving your food smelling and tasting almost like it never burned.

2. CORRECTING AN OVER- SALTED FOOD

Sometimes, you can miscalculate and add way more salt than the tongue can handle; leaving your food tasting very awful, but not to worry, there is a way out.

Take the food out of the pot, apply oil (palm oil) round the inside of the (empty) pot, put the food back inside, and cook for a few more minutes. The oil will absorb the excess salt, and make it salt-less again.

3. COOKING MEAT FASTER

Some beef parts require cooking for longer hours than others, and this can be a little frustrating if you have something else you’d rather spend the extra time doing. Here’s how you can make that ‘difficult’ beef part cook faster.

Simply, add bubble gum to the cooking meat, and watch it cook in far lesser time. Please, note that it has to be fresh bubble gum, not the one you already chewed.

4. COOKING BEANS FASTER

Beans are one of those foods that take a while to cook. Some have the patience to wait, but not everyone does. In most parts, the common trick to make beans cook faster is to add potash, but I wouldn’t recommend that because it tends to alter the original taste of the food, and makes it awful.

The best way to go about it is to simply add a tablespoon into the pot of cooking beans. It works.

5. STOPPING FOOD FROM BOILING OVER

Isn’t it frustrating when you’re cooking rice, beans, or any other food, and it just keeps boiling over and messing up your pot/ stove? Well, there’s a simple trick (two, actually) that can help you handle it. You can remove the lid of the pot to stop it from boiling over, or you can simply put a wooden spoon on top of the cooking pot (vertically or horizontally, doesn’t matter). This also works like magic.

Alright, ladies and gents, there are your extra kitchen tips. Give them a try, and see for yourself. Lets see if they actually work. Happy cooking!
