The holiday season is characterised by lots of drinking and eating. It’s all good to do that, but don’t forget that even as you eat, you have to stay healthy.
So here are some tips to stay in top health condition this season.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN
There’s a lot of contact this season, so shaking hands isn’t in short supply. Shaking hands means you’re vulnerable to disease causing germs. You can only keep them at bay by engaging proper hygiene. Wash your hands properly after every outing. Of course, you must use soap for best results.
STAY WARM
Different parts of the world usually suffer cold weather conditions during this season. Cold is no good for proper health. So you must cover yourself properly this season. Use sweat shirts and heaters if you have to. Avoid cold water and conditions
DON’T STRESS OUT YOURSELF
The list of things to be worried about this season are just too numerous, it’s almost hard to not be worried about them. But no matter what, don’t forget you have a life to live beyond Christmas and New Year’s Day. Do as much as you can, and save the rest for later. Stress will only cause more harm.
KEEP FOOD AND DRINKS SAFE
Food and drinks can be easily contaminated this season because of the weather and contact with several people. Always wash your hands before you cook, and avoid cross-contamination by keeping raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs (including their juices) away from ready-to-eat foods and eating surfaces.
Cook foods to the proper temperature. Refrigerate promptly. Do not leave perishable foods out for more than two hours.
EAT HEALTHY, AND STAY ACTIVE
Just because it’s Christmas, and there’s plenty to eat and drink doesn’t mean you should turn a glutton. Eat moderately, and don’t forget fat and obesity are real. And don’t forget to stay in shape. Work out often to burn fat and calorie.
