Do you still believe that household chores, especially taking care of the child is a woman’s job? If you do, you might tend to have issues in your relationship and marriage researchers say.

According to a research conducted by researchers from Georgia State University, sharing childcare makes couples satisfied with their lives sexually and emotionally. The study participants included couples who were between low to moderate income earners. The selected couples had children living with them and the wife were under 45 years old.

The researchers found that in relationships where the woman performs more than 60% of the chores, the couples scored low in relationship satisfaction and conflict, as well as the quality of their sex life.

However, the relationship’s happiness isn’t altered if the man performs more of the chores, and according to the lead researcher, Dr Daniel Carlson: “One of the most important findings is that the only childcare arrangement that appears really problematic for the quality of both a couple’s relationship and sex life is when the woman does most or all of the childcare.”

So, sharing duties in childcare especially would make your home happier.
