POSSIBLE SIGNS OF HIV YOU NEED TO KNOW

HIV is short for human immunodeficiency virus. It is a group of retrovirus that attacks the immune system and over time, turns to Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) – a life-threatening condition in which our immune system is totally weakened and made vulnerable to attacks by cancers and other types of diseases and infections.

According to the joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS), there are over 36 million people living with HIV in the world. However, as enormous as that figure seems, there are many more that do not know they have the condition. So we’re going to quickly give a quick rundown of some of the symptoms of the condition. What are the signs one is possibly down with HIV?

There are different kinds of symptoms associated with the condition. There are early signs and later signs, depending on the stage of the illness.

EARLY SIGNS

Headache

Fever

Tiredness

Swollen Nymph nodes

Sore throat

Rashes

Muscle and joint pain

Mouth Ulcer

Genital Ulcer

Night Sweats

SIGNS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LATER STAGES OF HIV

High Fevers

Chills and Night Sweats

Rashes

Breathing problems and recurrent coughing

Severe weight loss

White spots in mouth

Genital in mouth

Regular fatigue

Pneumonia

Memory problems

If you notice you have any of the aforementioned symptoms and they’ve been around for a while, the best course of action is to go see a doctor.

It’s possible those could be anything else, but because you’re not sure what it is exactly, seeing a doctor is the wisest bet.

It’s also important to understand that having HIV isn’t the end of the world. Unlike most conditions, it can be managed. There are drugs that can be taken to control the spread of the virus. They’re called ‘Anti Retroviral drugs’, and they can extend your lifespan by some years.

While HIV can be transmitted through blood, semen, and other liquid from the body, with the help of those drugs, one can still have kids that’ll be HIV free.
