We all know how bad smoking is to our health and there have been a campaign to stop people from smoking but what about not exercising? If I ask how many people exercise daily, the response would probably be shocking; most people don’t exercise and it’s really disturbing. Research has shown physical inactivity to be as bad as smoking and many people still don’t take this serious.

Most people don’t smoke because they know the dangers of smoking and yet they still have refused to exercise even when they know the dangers of not exercising. We need to understand the importance of exercising and with research showing physical inactivity is as bad as smoking, its time we took exercising seriously.

We stand to gain a lot from exercising. When you exercise, you give yourself the chance of living longer as exercising prevents depression, heart disease, breast and colon cancer, diabetes and more. Are these reasons not enough to exercise?

There is nothing as you being too old for exercise. Exercise is good for everyone regardless of the age. Being physically active is important even for those above 70 as you stand to have a high quality life.

If you exercise regularly, you are on the right track. The aim should be 30 minutes at least 5 days a week of moderate exercise. If you don’t exercise at all, you should start slowly; you can still see health benefits with even a small amount of activity. Start slowly as you aim 30 minutes of moderate exercising at least 5 days a week.

It’s never late to do the right thing. You shouldn’t just exercise because you are obese; start now and reap the benefits.
