One might think that colours do not play a huge role in the attractiveness of a person but studies have shown otherwise.
A 2010 study by researchers in the University of Rochester in New York found that men are more attracted to women in red. The study revealed that the colour red makes women more attractive as it sends out subtle messages about how receptive they might be to sexual advances.
During the study, about 96 male participants were shown photographs of women framed with different colour borders and asked to rate them. Women in red scored highly than women in other colours.
Also, two University of Rochester psychologists found that men are more likely to spend their money on women in red. The men were asked “Imagine that you are going on a date with this person and have $100 in your wallet. How much money would you be willing to spend on your date?” Interestingly, women in red also ranked the highest; ever heard of the lady in red song?
The study suggested that the response could stem from biological instincts.
So ladies, when next you are going for that special date, a lovely red dress might do the magic.
