Just when we thought we’ve seen all the romantic proposals that could ever happen, Utpal Kanbia, a 23-year-old electrician from North London decided to show that we’ve seen little.
Utpal proposed to his girlfriend Meena Rabadia, 24, in a very unique way.
There have been so many proposals that included the use of candles; Utpal took it higher by using a whopping 900 of them.
He proposed to his girlfriend in London’s Gladstone Park, Dollis Hill where they had their first date (how romantic).
Utpal spelled out the words, ‘Will you marry me?’ using hundreds of tiny tea lights in the grass. Things nearly turned sour when a police helicopter was hovering around the area and decided to stoop low for a check; it made Utpal scared that he was going to be arrested.
Luckily for them, the police instead tweeted this below;
While they initially chose to stay anonymous, the pair have now spoken about the amazing proposal and in an interview with London Live, Meena explained the full story. “As we got close I saw a group of boys with hoodies on, got scared and wanted to walk away. But Utpal said ‘No, let’s go and see what it is, let’s check it out’. We came closer and I was like ‘Oh My God, does that say what it says?!”
She said yes, and now the two hope to tie the knot in November; how more romantic would that be.
