It’s every woman’s dream to get married to that man she deems special, but men on the other hand are less eager to getting married as compared to women — men have so many other dreams, and this could make getting married a more distant dream. This is probably the reason why women wait for years upon years for a man to propose and it still doesn’t come forth. In all fairness to women, waiting for a man to propose isn’t really an easy task, and a lot of men end up not marrying those women that have been there for them. From this context, it isn’t really wrong for the woman to pull up the question and ask her man if he would marry her.
However, society doesn’t really permit that. Society deem it’s the man’s role to ask and the woman to accept — and a woman who asks her man to marry her would be seen as desperate. But, which is more desperate — a woman who lovingly asks her man to marry her or the one who doesn’t, but pressures him behind the scene for marriage? I would go with the former than the latter.
While I still retain my last bit of ‘old-fashioness’ by preferring the man to propose, I honestly don’t think it’s wrong for the woman to propose. If anything, she would know if the man really had plans of marriage in sight.
For one, I’d love to sit on and watch as a man gets to be served a meal we are used to dishing; it would actually be pulsating and highly romantic.
