According to the study carried out by dating service Match.com, saying “I love you” normally happens after five months of dating and you’ll have to wait for 6 months before being given a drawer at your partner’s house.
The study also found it takes us longer to hold hands with a new partner than to kiss a new partner.
The study also found that 27% of people wait between one and two weeks to have sex with their partner while 23% wait for a month.
Over a third of those surveyed said it would take one month or less for them to get dressed or undressed with the lights on. 60% also said they would introduce their partner to their best friend within the first month.
The study found that three major relationship milestones take place during the six-month mark: the revealing of one’s imperfections, the first argument and parental introductions.
The study also found that the average couple would get engaged after two years, marry after three years and have a family after four years of dating.
The researchers found that 27 is the average age people meet their partners with women more likely to meet them early in life at age 25 than men at age 28.
