1

Do you think you know how to properly take care of your vagina? You might just be doing the wrong things and it’s important you read this article. Personal hygiene is important and it’s important we know how to take proper care of our vagina. A healthy vagina is naturally acidic and has rich quantities of beneficial bacteria that help fend off infections and support a normal pH level and any interference with these normal conditions, and you may face vaginal irritation or infection

Below are ways we can achieve proper hygiene when it comes to our vagina

1. AVOID DOUCHING:

Most ladies indulge in douching probably because they have seen friends do it or probably their mum told them. It’s amazing how many ladies still douche after sex or after their period. Douching isn’t good for us because it washes out the good bacteria in your vagina.

2. AVOID BUBBLE BATH:

I understand most ladies love the bubble bath as it’s a nice way for them to relax after a stressful day but it’s important you know that bubbles can get in the vagina and cause irritation and infections.

3. HEALTHY DIET:

to ensure we maintain a healthy vagina, it’s important we eat a balanced, nutritious diet and drink plenty of fluids. You are encouraged to take yoghurt and cranberry juice because they can both help prevent yeast infections and aid in their treatment.

4. VISIT YOUR GYNAECOLOGIST REGULARLY:

to maintain a healthy vagina, it’s important as women we have regular gynaecological exams. It is recommended that every woman visits a gynaecologist within three years of becoming sexually active or by age 21. It’s important you visit the gynaecologist regularly as they are trained to help you diagnose diseases and disorders that can harm the vagina.

5. AVOID USING APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TO CLEAN THE VAGINA:

there is no scientific evidence that using apple cider vinegar to clean the vagina works so you are better off not using it.

6. ENSURE YOU ARE WELL LUBRICATED DURING SEX:

when next you get in the sheets with your partner, ensure you are well lubricated. The skin of the labia and vagina can become irritated and chafed, sometimes to the point of breaking if the vagina is not well lubricated and if you want to maintain a healthy vagina, you should ensure you are well lubricated during sex.
