DOES FLIRTING COUNT AS CHEATING?

Flirting literally might not be cheating; I mean you haven’t done anything – not yet at least.

However, even though flirting doesn’t count as cheating, it shows desire and intent, and it could lead you on to cheat. Every act of cheating probably starts with flirting; flirting could build your passion for someone that isn’t your partner; flirting could be what would trigger a tempting mind; flirting could make you want someone.

No man or woman would be happy to see his or her partner flirting with the opposite sex. So if your partner would feel threatened by it, it means there is something dangerous about it that could compare it to cheating.

Yes, flirting isn’t cheating, but cheating starts with flirting. Flirting is never healthy for a relationship; it could induce things you might not control, and this would be bad for your relationship.

Flirting also passes a wrong message. If you’re flirting with someone other than your partner, what message do you pass to that person or other people that are aware of your relationship? If you flirt with someone, you lead that person on, and that’s the distraction you need to be a cheating partner. Flirting also passes a message to others that you’re unfaithful to your partner — and imagine if a friend of your partner notices you’re flirting with someone else.

Flirting might not be cheating in literal terms, but it’s unhealthy for your relationship and it could be likened to be a cousin to cheating.
