DOES TWITTER REALLY HARM YOUR RELATIONSHIP?

We live in a world where social media is king. It has become an important part of our lives. With social media it is now easy to stay in touch with everyone that matters to you and meeting new friends has never been this easy. Is this new trend really affecting relationships?

Well according to Russell B. Clayton, a Doctoral student at the university of Missouri school of journalism, active use of Twitter can be damaging to romantic relationships.

The study tells us people who are active users of Twitter are more to be involved in confrontations that may eventually lead to infidelity. This conclusion was made after a survey of 587 twitter users of all ages.

“If high amounts of Twitter use does indeed lead to high amounts of Twitter-related conflicts among romantic partners, it is plausible to speculate that such conflict could lead to unfavorable relationship outcomes such as cheating, breakups or divorce” Russell B. Clayton concluded.
