9 SIGNS YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP

unhappy lady

Many manipulative relationships exist with one partner bearing the brunt and being manipulated or used by the other.

A manipulative relationship isn’t a healthy relationship to be in; being manipulated goes against everything a true relationship stands for.

Do you think you are being manipulated in your relationship? These are some signs that suggest so.

1. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS

You know you are in a manipulative relationship when your partner makes you feel responsible for their own actions, their mistakes and things they do wrong. When you are in such a relationship where every mistake is directly or indirectly seen as your fault by your partner, then that’s a sign of being in a manipulative relationship.

2. YOU DO EVERYTHING FOR YOUR PARTNER AND GET NOTHING IN RETURN

Every good gesture and act of love ought to be reciprocated by your partner. However, people find themselves in such a relationship where they make lots of sacrifices and do everything within their reach for their partner, but get nothing in return. This is a typical example of a manipulative relationship.

3. YOUR WEAKNESSES ARE ALWAYS POINTED OUT

Your partner ought to make you feel strong and not weak, but people find themselves in relationships where their partner uses their weaknesses against them — this is a terrible act and a sign of a manipulative relationship.

4. YOU ARE NEVER LISTENED TO

There are some relationships where one partner’s voice is never heard or listened to; rather it’s the voice of only one partner that’s being heard. When in a relationship where you can’t contribute or you aren’t allowed to have a say in any tangible thing then you are in a manipulative relationship.

5. WHEN YOUR LOVE IS USED AGAINST YOU

Some people love their partner to the extent that they can do anything just to prove their love and loyalty. However, some partners use this against them; some people turn their partner’s love against them just to fulfill their selfish desires. This is a common example of a manipulative relationship.

6. YOU ARE NEVER APPRECIATED

People find themselves in relationships where they aren’t appreciated, no matter what they do and how they do it. While, in many relationships, partners choose what to appreciate — in the sense that they only appreciate the huge things their partner does for them. Relationships like these bear traits of manipulation.

7. YOU ARE MADE TO BE SEEN AS A BAD PERSON

If you’re made to feel bad or to be seen as a bad person because you probably couldn’t do what your partner asks of, then you are being manipulated. Any partner who does this is only selfish and being manipulative.

8. YOUR PARTNER ONLY SHOWS YOU LOVE WHEN THEY WANT SOMETHING

Relationships like these are countless. In relationships where your partner doesn’t show love to you or cares little about your existence, but become surprisingly nice, loving and kind when they want something — make no mistake, such a relationship is a manipulative one.

9. YOUR PARTNER MAKES YOU FEEL GUILTY

This is another sign of a manipulative relationship; in a relationship where your partner makes you feel guilty for everything then your feelings and emotions are definitely being manipulated; such a relationship is an unhealthy one and is manipulative.

Many people find themselves in relationships where they face different types of manipulation and manipulative acts from their partners, but they soak everything in the hope that things would get better.
