I understand no one is perfect but there are certain fashion mistakes men still make that should be avoided. You could ruin your chances of getting your dream job or your dream lady by making some of these mistakes.

1. SUIT JACKET/BLAZER TOO SMALL
I understand we are in an era were slim-fitted clothes rock but some men just take it to the extreme. Please it’s really important you dress your body type and don’t confuse slim-fit to mean tight.
2. SUIT JACKET/BLAZER TOO BIG
Earlier I talked about it being too small, so now it’s time to address those that keep it too big. When shopping for a suit, ensure the it fits your shoulders. Please avoid wearing suits that are one or two sizes too big.
3. SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT WITH TIE
This is a big blunder for me and I don’t care what anyone says. Short sleeve shirts are not dress shirts so they shouldn’t go with ties except maybe you work with a fast-food chain.
4. MATCH THE COLOUR OF YOUR TIE AND POCKET SQUARE
I see so many men make mistakes when it comes to tie/pocket square combinations. When wearing a tie, never wear a pocket square with the same colour and pattern. The tie/pocket square combination should be complimentary to an outfit and not be the focal point. When you match them exactly, you draw undue attention.
5. POOR QUALITY FOOTWEAR
Invest in quality footwear and avoid wearing poor quality footwear. It’s better you own a quality pair than have 4 poor quality pairs. Learn to pay attention to your footwear.
6. TROUSERS THAT ARE TOO LONG
I still don’t get why some men do this. Why wear long trousers that end up sweeping the streets as you walk? Please get your trousers hemmed. It’s really not cool wearing long trousers.
7. CREW NECK T-SHIRT UNDER A DRESS SHIRT
Never wear a crew neck t-shirt under a dress shirt whether it’s buttoned at the top or not. Please don’t join those that do this, it’s wrong.
8. DRESS SHIRT UNTUCKED
You ruin your dress shirt if it’s not tucked. Wearing a dress shirt untucked with or without a blazer is so wrong. It’s called a dress shirt, remember that.
9. WEARING A TIE BAR WITH A WAISTCOAT
If you want to use a tie bar, drop your waistcoat and if you want to use your waistcoat, drop your tie bar. You should avoid wearing a tie bar and a waistcoat because they both serve the same function which is to hold your tie in place.
