You shouldn’t only love and appreciate your partner; there are other special people in your life that you should also appreciate.
If you have friends that are genuine, neighbours who care, colleagues that are good to you and also family members who mean well for you, then you have to love and appreciate them as well.
How can you do this?
1. KEEP IN TOUCH
You can show these special people that they still have a place in your heart by keeping in touch with them. Don’t go a very long time without saying hello, especially your old friends who have been there for you.
2. BE THERE FOR THEM
Be there for that person especially when they need you, and even when they don’t need your help, care for them.
3. SHARE IN THEIR JOY AND SADNESS
Be a partaker of the good and bad moments in their lives. If they are celebrating, celebrate with them and if they are sad, comfort them.
4. SPEND TIME WITH THEM
Sometimes being physically present is the best way you can show love and appreciation. When last did you pay that person a visit? When last did you spend time with them?
5. ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR EFFORTS
Acknowledge the efforts of those people in your life; take time out to reflect on what they have done for you, acknowledge it and then thank them for their efforts.
6. CREATE GOOD MOMENTS WITH THEM
Having a good old time with a good old friend is never a time wasted. Moments like these are special and they last forever.
7. DO SOMETHING THOUGHTFUL FOR THEM
Do something thoughtful to show that you appreciate that special person in your life. Just do something out of the blue for that person and watch the glow that would appear in that person’s face.
8. OFFER TO HELP
Sometimes that old buddy or someone who is also important to you might be in need of help but wouldn’t ask you to help; you don’t have to wait. If you can meet a need in that person’s life, recognise that need and do it from the depth of your heart.
If you can look around you, you’ll recognise that there are so many special people in your life and you ought to love and appreciate them.
