8 POWERFUL VEGETABLES YOU SHOULD EAT REGULARLY

A lot of people avoid healthy foods only to eat foods that wouldn’t be beneficial to their health.

There are different kinds of vegetables, and they come with different health benefits that boost your health and immunity.

1. SPINACH

Spinach contains a good amount of vitamins A, C and K and also manganese. Spinach has also been researched to aid in the reduction of type 2 diabetes.

2. CARROTS

Carrots are packed with large amounts of vitamin A and also contain a good amount of vitamin C and fibre.

Carrots contain high levels of carotenoids, a powerful compound that’s been researched to reduce the risk of various cancers and eye diseases.

3. CABBAGE

Cabbage can be referred to as one of the most underrated vegetables on earth as most people only use it in preparing salad and slaw.

Cabbage contains a good amount of fibre and vitamin C. It also belongs to a vegetable family called cruciferous; these vegetables have been researched to contain substances called glucosinolate, which breaks down into different compounds that have been linked to reduce the risk of cancer.

4. CUCUMBER

This dark green vegetable is another that’s packed with lots of nutrients and health benefits.

Cucumber contains vitamin A, B and C which helps boost immunity. It contains 96 percent water which would help keep you hydrated and also flush out toxins from the body, and it’s also known to dissolve kidney stones.

5. TOMATOES

This vegetable is one of my personal favourite and I find it surprising that people only use it for cooking.

Tomatoes are packed with vitamin A, C and k and also potassium. They also  provide the body with vitamin B6, magnesium and phosphorus and they have a relatively high water content.

Just like in carrots, beta-carotene is also found in tomatoes which would protect the skin. Lycopene is also found in tomatoes, which would help protect the skin from the sun’s UV rays and also aid for a more beautiful skin.

6. POTATOES

Potatoes are also another healthy vegetable to consume. They are packed with potassium, vitamins C and B6.

7. ONIONS

Another vegetable that’s being considered or used more like a flavour is onions. Onions are packed with vitamin B and is extremely good for those watching their weight, as it has low calorie content.

Onions contain a powerful antioxidant called quercetin, and according to the British Journal of Nutrition, regular dose of onion skin extract can help lower blood pressure for adults with hypertension.

8. ASPARAGUS

Asparagus don’t only have a sweet flavour, but it’s packed with vitamin B which can help fight against low blood pressure. Asparagus is also a good source of folate; it’s key for cell growth, metabolism and is highly important for pregnant women.

Vegetables should be a part of your diet regularly, and these eight veggies are packed with lots of nutrients.
