7 TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO AVOID MARRYING

The obvious secret to a lasting marriage is marrying the right one by all ramifications. Some say patience and tolerance play a part, but I think some things are better avoided than tolerated. Here are some types of people you definitely don’t want to end up marrying.

AN ALCOHOLIC

There’s a difference between drinking occasionally, and drinking for fun. If your would-be spouse is someone who has a strong liking for alcohol, you may be doing yourself a lot of good by looking elsewhere. I don’t need to remind you of the dangers alcoholism comes with. From violence to public embarrassment— I don’t think it’s worth it.

A GOLD DIGGER

It’s not difficult to tell who loves you for your wealth and money. Simply withhold some privileges from them, and they’ll show their genuine colors soon enough. If someone settles for you because of what you have, what happens to that union when things take an unpleasant turn in your finances?

A DRUG ABUSER

It’s kind of like marrying an alcoholic, except that this is even worse, in that drug abuse is illegal. You could end up in jail or worse still, get caught in the middle of his illegal activities. And do you really think someone like this is fit to be a parent?

A VIOLENT PERSON

With violence comes destruction and pain, and possible losses. You really want to settle for someone who hits you? Someone who destroys things when you argue? Do they get into fights often? These are signs that they’re unfit for you and your future children.

A NARCISSIST

Nothing wrong with admiring oneself, and taking care of one’s needs before others’, however, there’s always a limit to everything, even self admiration. It gets to a level when it becomes pure selfishness, and you don’t want that, trust me because people like this only think about themselves always, and never anybody else.

THE OVERLY JEALOUS

A bit of jealousy is always healthy for the longevity of a relationship. It always gives you assurance that you still matter enough to cause your partner worry, but there’s also a limit. If their jealousy involves them publicly embarrassing you or threatening to harm you, it’s extreme, and I’d advise you stay away from it.

A CONTROLLING PERSON

They always want you to look a certain way, dress and talk in a certain way, stay in certain areas… Be careful, so you don’t end up a slave rather than a partner. Marriage doesn’t take away your rights; it makes you better.

Always look out for these signs, so you don’t end up in the wrong place.
