7 TIPS TO BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE

confident woman

Having confidence in yourself is a very good thing; when you have self-belief, people would also believe in you and see you differently.

Confidence is highly important if you want to achieve great things in life, and a lack of it would make you feel miserable, unhappy and let failure and fear take a hold of you.

These tips below would help boost your confidence.

1. KICK AWAY NEGATIVITY

Negative thoughts are major reasons a lot of people don’t have confidence in themselves; negative thoughts would make you see yourself as weak, unhappy, miserable, incompetent and not good enough. Raise the rent and kick negative thoughts out of your life; if you want to be a more confident person, you shouldn’t let negativity in your life.

2. RECOGNISE YOUR ACHIEVEMENT

Recognise the good things about you, write a list of your strengths, be grateful for the things you have in your life and recognise how far you’ve come as a person. Sometimes people don’t give themselves enough credit, that’s why they wallow in self-doubt and lack confidence.

3. Do something each day that makes you happy. When you are happy, you tend to be more confident.

4. DO SOMETHING THAT YOU’VE ALWAYS BEEN SCARED OF

Do something you’ve not done before, do something you are scared of, and you would be surprised at how much strength you have deep within you. Doing something that you feel you can’t do would totally boost the confidence you have in yourself.

5. CHANGE YOUR BODY LANGUAGE

Body language is very important in boosting your confidence level. Research has even found that having the right body language can make other people see you as confident and boost your confidence level in turn.

Avoid poor body language like slouching, talking hurriedly, fidgeting, looking at the ground and avoiding eye contact. Maintain eye contact instead, sit straight, stand up tall, smile more and talk slowly.

6. NEVER ACCEPT FAILURE

Never see yourself as a failure and never accept failure in your life. Even when you fail, see yourself as a success.

7. BE PREPARED

Be prepared for tough challenges, especially in your given career. If you have a presentation, be prepared; if you are going for an interview, be prepared. When you are prepared, you feel more confident and you have an added level of belief in yourself.

Having self-confidence would make you love yourself the more and make people believe in you; but when you are short in confidence, you become less desirable.
