Mature couples quarrel differently from immature ones; they have their issues, they have their misunderstandings but they are still mature about it.
This is what mature couples don’t do when they are quarrelling.
1. THEY DON’T BRING UP THE PAST
Mature couples don’t bring up the past when quarreling; they focus on the present and don’t try to complicate things by bringing up events that have happened before.
2. THEY DON’T GO BELOW THE BELT
Mature couples don’t go below the belt when quarrelling; they don’t tend to insult each other or abuse each other when they are quarrelling. They understand that things like these create disharmony.
3. THEY DON’T FORGET THEIR RELATIONSHIP IN THEIR PROCESS
Mature couples don’t quarrel and kill their relationship. When they have a fight, they still love and care for each other and value the relationship they have with each other despite their misunderstanding.
4. THEY TRY NOT TO BE SELFISH
It’s hard not to be selfish; it’s hard not to feel that you are right and that what you want is the best. This kills a lot of relationships, but mature couples tend not to be selfish and think only of their individual benefits.
5. THEY DON’T QUARREL FOR LONG
Mature couples don’t forget to make up; they don’t keep going at each other for days; they try to resolve their differences on time and move on.
6. THEY DON’T HOLD THE RELATIONSHIP TO RANSOM
Mature partners don’t hold their relationship to ransom; they don’t threaten to leave the relationship just because of an argument. Mature partners don’t put their relationship at a standstill because they are having a fight; they don’t forget their love in the process.
Mature couples quarrel, they fight, they could even hate each other for a second; but they make up, learn from their mistakes, understand each other better and then move on.
