6 IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF YOU MUST KNOW

The following details about people are usually regarded as unimportant and unnecessary to hold on to, but the truth is you will need them at some point in your life.

YOUR HEIGHT

In developed parts of the world, the number of people who know their height is decent, and even then isn’t good enough. However, it is alarming to know that most people in developing parts of the world are totally in the dark when it comes to their height. Some of us like to tell our height based on those around us forgetting that there could be differences.

The importance of knowing how tall you are may come in handy during an interview or when you need to quickly fill and submit a form. Imagine you don’t know it at that point, what do you do?

YOUR WEIGHT

Most people don’t care about their weight because they believe they look small enough to not be overweight, but they also forget that body size or mass isn’t the same as weight. And even more annoying about this is that it costs next to nothing to know what you weigh. Not knowing can throw you in a difficult situation if faced with scenarios like mentioned above.

BLOOD GROUP

Certain blood groups cannot donate to others, certain ones cannot receive from others, so it’s important to know where you fall in, and possibly display it somewhere people can easily see in case of an emergency, so they know exactly where to look when you need blood. This is very important. If you do not know your blood group, you’re just not ready to be an adult yet.

YOUR GENOTYPE

Just like with blood groups, genotypes also have differences, and aren’t supposed to come together in marriage in specific situations. Imagine an AS getting married to someone of the same genotype or an SS going for anything other than an AA – that can mean disaster.

SKIN TYPE

Everyone has a unique skin type. It is your duty to know what kind of skin you possess, and get appropriate lotion or beauty product for it. Don’t judge yourself based on someone else. Just because person A looks good using product A doesn’t mean the same will apply to you.

ICE/NOK

The aforementioned mean ‘In case of emergency’ and ‘Next of kin.’ To some, they’re not a big deal, but they are in actual sense. Some of us don’t even know who to use as next of kin. Your next of kin should be your younger siblings if you’re single or mom/dad if you’re an only child. And if you’re married, it’s between your wife and kid. You should have a next of kin in case something happens, and they need someone to inherit your property or something of the sort.

An ICE also comes handy in case of an accident or lost wallet. It’s a special contact to reach out to in the case of the aforementioned.

These little details seem unimportant, but like I said, they really are; if not today, maybe tomorrow.
