Acnes and Pimples can be really annoying, and no one likes them. In fact, they can drain your confidence. But what really causes them? Well, while it isn’t yet known for sure what causes pimples, it is suspected that bacteria play a role in their build-up.

Another fact about pimples and acne is that they can be hereditary in nature. In order words, if your mom or dad or those before them had severe acne attack, the likelihood is that you may also suffer from it. They’re disgusting, but the good news, however, is that they can be avoided.

Acnes are caused by the clogging of oil in the skin caused by a gland called ‘sebum’. This ‘clogging’ is as a result of poor hygiene; which means that keeping and maintaining a good hygiene can shield you from suffering acne and pimples. 1. WASH YOUR FACE AND SHOWER REGULARLY

Like I said earlier, pimples are as a result of the clogging (blockage) of the skin pores by a gland called ‘sebum’. If allowed to stay on over time, bacteria can get involved this can cause pimples. So, you have to keep your skin pores clean and bacteria- free always, by showering and washing your face regularly. The ideal number of times to shower daily or wash the skin is twice; exceeding that can lead to skin dryness and irritation.

2. MIND THE KIND OF SKIN MOISTURIZERS YOU USE

A lot of people are usually not careful of what they apply on their skin and face; they just go out to the store, and whatever catches their attention, they take. But this is not right; the skin is delicate, and there are different skin textures, dry and wet skins. Each kind of skin requires just the right type of moisturizer for it. Always patronize professionals, as they’ll advise you on what’s best for your skin. And here’s a hint, ensure to check that the moisturizers you buy have ‘noncomedogenic’ written on it. This means it won’t give you acnes or pimples.

3. KEEP YOUR BED SHEET AND PILLOW CASE CLEAN

Dirty bed accessories carry bacteria. These bacteria can irritate your skin, and increase your chances of getting acne. Make sure you always wash your bed sheet and pillow case; change them when due, and keep your clothing clean as well because pimples can also appear around the shoulder area.

4. MINIMIZE CONTACT BETWEEN YOUR HAIR AND FACE

It’s okay to applyconditioners and oil on your hair; they make it soft and great. However, as you do this, you must be conscious of your face. Some people can be a bit careless, and they don’t mind a bit of hair around the face; do this, and you risk getting pimples. When the oil in your hair enters the pores in your face, and it can cause acne overtime. Always keep your hair well packed, and be moderate in the quantity of oil you apply on it.

5. HANDS OFF YOUR FACE!

Our hands aren’t always as clean as they may appear. We touch all sorts of things (including dirty stuff), and along the way, our hands get packed with particles which contain invisible bacteria. Unconsciously, we then, place these bacteria on the face by touching them. This is wrong, and can cause pimples. It is hygienically wrong to put hands on the face, unless you’re in the bathroom. Also, never attempt to rupture the pimples on your face, doing that can cause a sore or irritation which will take longer to heal.

So, these are the primary steps to ensuring an acne and pimple-free face. And like i said, there can be exceptions; some people inherit these sorts of things from their parents, and in such cases, the doctors know what measure to take.
