It’s not uncommon for rumours to spread about your relationship; sometimes it could be true, most times it could be false and a lot of times it could be exaggerated.
Rumours happen all the time, and has led to the death of many relationships. If care isn’t taken, rumours could lead to the end of your relationship.
Some rumours could spread about you or your partner which are false, and there are some ways you can handle them.
1. GET BUSY
People might spread a lot of false things about you or your partner; it could be people who don’t like you or who want to bring your relationship down.
The best bet is to get busy; being busy will make you strong and develop a thick skin to what people say. When you start to give in to those rumours or ponder on them, it would most likely affect your relationship. Many of these rumours end when they notice you don’t even care.
2. TALK TO YOUR PARTNER ABOUT IT
If it worries you too much, talk to your partner about it. Whether the rumour is about you or your partner, you should try and communicate with each other. Communicating with your partner will answer a lot of questions and clear a lot of doubts.
3. LIVE YOUR LIFE
Some people let rumours hinder them from living their lives; they put so much energy in those rumours and forget to live their lives in the process.
Don’t fail to live your life because of a rumour being circulated about you or your partner.
4. GIVE YOUR PARTNER THE BENEFIT OF DOUBT
If the rumours being circulated are about your partner, you should give your partner the benefit of doubt, rather than jump into hasty conclusions. Don’t kill the trust you have for each other because of a rumour you heard; you’d ruin your relationship when you do this.
5. LIVE AN OPEN LIFE
Live a life that’s devoid of secrecy, because it could make you untrustworthy at times. When you live an open life, you make your partner trust you the more, and it will be easier for them to handle those relationship rumours about you.
Rumours are like poisonous snakes; they could be cunning at times and sting your relationship when you least expect.
