Every employer requires constant productivity from employees, and for an employee to meet up those demands, their energy levels ought to be intact all day long.

High energy levels are very important for productivity to be present, and there are certain habits that would help maintain a good energy level all day.

1. AVOID GADGET AND SCREEN LIGHT BEFORE BEDTIME

The way you spend your night would go a long way in determining how energetic your day would be, and avoiding screen light is a good way to end your night. Screen light suppresses melatonin production, the chemical that triggers your brain to go to sleep. When the production of melatonin is suppressed, sleep becomes difficult.

So avoid your gadgets at least one hour before bedtime so you can have a sound night sleep and wake up with the right mind frame.

2. HAVE ADEQUATE SLEEP

A lot of people sleep for very short hours and this is responsible for their low energy during the day. Quality sleep would mean better energy during the day and a lack of quality sleep would translate to poor energy levels. Try to have better sleep of at least 7 hours and you would be more productive during the day.

3. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

A little physical activity like taking a walk can also help serve as a short-term energy boost when you’re tired at work. This would boost blood flow and also help release endorphin which would help boost your energy.

4. AVOID TOO MUCH COFFEE

A lot of people tend to drink too much coffee at work, but this isn’t really ideal. Caffeine in coffee is more likely to make you addicted to coffee while research shows that coffee doesn’t boost energy levels but rather it masks the effect of low energy.

5. PRIOTITISE TASK

To maintain productivity, you should aim to match your energy levels with the task at hand. You tend to be most productive from the morning hours to noon and a bit less productive thereafter. So, aim to match your most tasking jobs when your energy level is at its optimum and perform the easier tasks when you are low on energy. This is a simple trick that would make you become more productive.

Maintaining energy levels every day at work isn’t always an easy task, but with these 5 tips, you can easily become more productive as your energy levels would be given a boost.
