It’s hard to get a job these days. As a matter of fact, it’s always been a problem landing one because there’s so much competition for limited spots. However, that doesn’t mean we have to accept and stick with everything we get in the form of ’employment’. Some jobs become an embarrassment when you hang on for too long. You need a new job, if…
NO ROOM FOR LEARNING AND IMPROVEMENT
Improvement and learning are some of the main reasons people seek new employment. The need to grow and learn new things.
Sometimes you get to a level where you feel you’re not challenged anymore in your current place of work, and you crave a new task, because you’ve gotten to that place where you feel you know enough, and want more, yet no room for that in your organisation. If this is you, you need a new job.
NO REAL HAPPINESS
I have a friend who once quit her well-paying job in the oil industry to pursue a career in broadcasting. Her reason was simple; she was no longer happy. Happiness is everything. Without it, it’s hard to do anything meaningful for your organization. So if you’ve been working without happiness for a while, you need a new job. Follow your passion.
Everyone in your environment is comfortable doing the same things over and over; nothing new to push or inspire you and you have obviously had enough of it. You need to find a place that pushes you, to inspire you or that awakens the monster in you. Never settle with monotonous work, get a new job.
When you know you’ve given an organization your best for a while, and you have proper qualifications to back up your role, yet, no improvement whatsoever in how much you earn as monthly reward; it wouldn’t be a crime if you tried something new and better. Everyone deserves one.
YOU’RE STUCK IN A SYSTEM OF OLD IDEAS
Most organizations want to improve and stay in competition always, so they adapt to new situations and ways of business. Some don’t, and would rather be stuck in their old ways because of the fear of change or perhaps a particularly rigid boss. You can’t be your best in an environment like that, so the best way forward is away from that sort of organization.
