5 REASONS YOU SHOULD TAKE A BREAK FROM RELATIONSHIPS

739

Sometimes relationships can be stressful; the heart breaks, the quarrels, the misunderstandings; the whole emotions it brings can have quite a weight on your feelings and it can affect a huge part of your life.

Some people force themselves to be in a relationship just to bear that ‘in a relationship’ tag. Being in a relationship should be only for legitimate reasons and there are also real reasons that can make one take a break off relationships, probably weeks, months or a year or as the heart desires.

I have five reasons you should take a break off relationships.

1. RE-EVALUATE YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIFE

Sometimes, you need to take a break off relationships so you can re-evaluate certain aspects of your relationship and how it affects your life. If you experience more heart breaks than joyful moments, more quarrels than peace, more sadness than happiness then you should probably leave relationships and focus on other things. If you have been in so many relationships and still haven’t found joy or love in them then you should take a break and evaluate the kind of people you have been dating and discover the kind of person that would suit you.

2. WAIT FOR THE RIGHT PERSON

People rush into relationships because they fear being single; the fear of being single make many date every jerk they come across. It’s better to date one nice and charming person that would make a relationship worth it than a hundred jerks. Don’t rush to enter a new relationship after a failed relationship, wait for someone who would be worth it, someone who earned the right to be in your heart and enjoy every bit of the time you spend waiting rather than sob and regret.

3. WORK ON YOURSELF

This is one bitter truth that people fail to admit; some people enter relationships when they aren’t ready to be in one; being ready doesn’t have to do with age but mentality and maturity. You can be 40 and still be ill-prepared to enter a relationship. Relationship has a lot to do with understanding and tolerance, and so many people lack this trait, that’s why they go from one failed relationship to another. Anger, intolerance, nagging, never accepting your mistakes but quick to lay blames, unfaithfulness, and a host of other things are some issues some people need to take a break from relationships so as to work on themselves. Acknowledging that you have an issue to work on is a bold step of maturity.

4. CAREER

Sometimes, people let their career come in-between their relationship, in the sense that they put so much focus on their career path and in return the relationship suffers. Sometimes it’s better to stay off relationships than be in a relationship with someone half-heartedly; if you know you aren’t ready, take a break off relationships rather than put someone’s feelings in jeopardy.

5. ENJOY BEING SINGLE

Who says being single is boring? It’s better to have your feelings intact than have a broken heart. Rather than rush into the next relationship after a previous failed relationship, take time out, enjoy being single, build your self-worth; being single can be fun too and it affords you the time to face other important issues in your life.

Sometimes, the best relationship advice you can give to yourself is to take a break from relationships and build so many things in your life from there; see how it goes from there and you might just be that perfect partner for somebody, after all the time off and work you have put on yourself.
