5 REASONS INFORMATION IS POWER

There’s this popular quote that information is power, and it’s a common saying that even a little child knows. But as powerful as this saying is, it’s become a cliche and we’re yet to adopt to just how powerful we can become by getting the right information.

How can the right information make you powerful?

1. Information keeps you ahead

The reason why some people are deemed greater than others is simply because of what they know. If everyone knew the same thing, then everyone will be on the same level. What separates people most times is what they know. More often than not, our actions are defined based on the information we have at our disposal.

2. Information makes you knowledgeable

A quote by Robin Morgan reads: “Knowledge is power. Information is power. The secret or hoarding of knowledge or information may be an act of tyranny camouflaged as humility.”

Benjamin Franklin also said: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”

Information makes you knowledgeable; they both go hand in hand.

3. Information brings respect

The world out there is constantly in search of information. People need new information, people study old information, and people try to make new inventions out of old information. A man who has information definitely has what a lot of people need, so he basically earns their respect.

4. Information is valuable

The only thing that makes information lose its value is as a result of new information that supercedes or invalidates it. The value of information can’t be quantified by money.

5. Information brings control

Politicians, companies, advertisements, marketing strategies, government etc all try to gain control by releasing certain information. Many people have been dominant on this planet simply by the information they shared. Information has a way of controlling the mind, and this power of mind control has been a vital force that has brought both positive and negative impact over the years.

Never joke with the power of what information can do.
