Apologies are hard to give; you’d rarely see a person who is willing to apologise. Everyone wants to be apologised to, but no one wants to apologise. Many people believe apologising makes them the fool especially when you are the first to apologise, but in essence, it doesn’t make you the fool.
This is what apologising does for you:
1. IT GIVES YOU PEACE
One thing you are sure of when you apologise is peace; you have peace of mind and you have a free heart. Failure to apologise and move on will give you a heavy heart.
2. IT SHOWS STRENGTH
Doing something that other people can’t do shows strength in character. When you apologise, it shows the strength you have deep within.
3. IT SHOWS MATURITY
One who can swallow up pride and apologise for a wrong done or a mistake made, clearly shows how mature minded you are. Apologies show maturity.
4. IT DOESN’T EVEN MEAN YOU’RE WRONG
Sometimes, being the first to apologise doesn’t really mean you are the one at fault, it only shows that you are wiser and stronger enough to value peace and do what’s necessary to have peace.
5. IT SHOWS OTHER STRONG QUALITIES
Apologising also shows other strong qualities like being responsible for your actions, being empathetic and it’s also a leadership quality. One who can apologise tends to have a good heart generally.
Being apologetic doesn’t make you a fool, and being the first to apologise doesn’t make you stupid either.
