4 REASONS YOU MIGHT NOT GET THAT PARTNER YOU DESERVE FROM ONLINE DATING

So many people turn to online dating to find their soulmate or probably anything close to that. To me, online dating is a 70-30 thing; there is likely a 70 percent risk that the relationship might not work out after all and a 30 percent chance that it will; though many people have found their life partners from online dating.

With online dating, there are so many questions of ifs and so many cases of buts that make it a dicey situation. I would share my opinion in four simple tips.

1. EXPECTATIONS HARDLY EVER MATCH REALITY

People say pictures are deceiving and that is one saying that is highly true. Sometimes who you see on your computer screen looks entirely different from the person you meet in reality and from then onward there is this psychological shift in your perception about the person which can either be positive or negative, and this has a long way in determining the final outcome of that relationship.

2. SO MANY CHARACTERS ARE HIDDEN BEHIND THE COMPUTER

Everyone tries to put up a decent character on the computer; sometimes, even the meanest of people can be perceived to be caring when they type behind the computer and with continuous chatting, texting and communication, your subconscious begins to have an affiliation with that person and the next minute you might feel you are in love. It’s so easy to fall for a character on social media than in reality because that medium would never reveal the skeletons in our closet.

3. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE FACE TO FACE INTERACTION

When you get to meet someone face to face before eventually building up friendship and then a relationship, you can have your judgement of that person easily, and probably anticipate if there could be any connection between you two. With face to face interaction you could probably read meaning into every smile, every frown and every smirk.

4. YOU MIGHT FALL FOR THE WRONG CHARACTER

Like I pointed out in the second tip, with online dating you might just fall for the wrong character and the affairs of the heart isn’t one to be taken lightly. It’s so easy to portray a different character and personality via online dating, and sometimes people do this without knowing; now picture falling in love with the wrong person.

I’m not castigating online dating or condemning it; but my point is, never put your all your hopes in it – it could be catastrophic; and the fact that it favoured Mr A or Miss B doesn’t mean that it would favour you.
