The breasts are two of the most important parts of a woman— not just because they edify her body, but also because they play a major role in the growth of her children. So, in fact, breasts are important for the continued survival of the human form. This is why it is also necessary that more and more women are aware of their breasts, as it would help them take better care of them. And speaking of awareness, check out these amazing facts about breasts you probably missed.

 

1. LACTATION

Did you know that breastfeeding your baby for up to six or more months could make you shed weight? Now you do! Studies have shown that lactating mothers who feed their children for 6 months, upward are bound to lose some weight.

2. CUP SIZES

Ever heard about the ‘KK’? The KK is regarded as the biggest bra size available for purchase — and it’s about 20 inches.

3. BREAST ENLARGEMENT

You’ve probably heard that you can increase the size of your jugs naturally, but I’m sorry to tell you that you heard wrong. The only real way you can make them bigger is through surgery or Botox.

4. MEN AND BREASTS

Did you know that it’s not only overweight men that have abnormally big breasts? Breasts in men is not as a result of obesity, rather it is a result of a condition known as gynecomastia— it causes the mammary glands to become bigger than normal.

5. THE NIPPLES

Just as you find one breast looking bigger than the other, the nipples can also differ in size (one bigger than the other). It is perfectly normal.

Did you know that the condition is not peculiar to women alone? Although rare, men have been reported to suffer breast cancer.

Sleeping face-down can affect the shape of your breasts negatively. It is recommended that you sleep on your side, or support your breasts with something (e.g. a pillow) to give it the desired lift.
