Appreciation is highly important in every relationship; it’s actually a requirement if you want your relationship to be successful. We’ve always emphasised on the need to appreciate your partner and the things to appreciate your partner for; but how can one really show appreciation to a partner?
1. BY SHOWING HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THEM
When you show your partner how much you love that person, it’s also a way of appreciation. Loving your partner everyday of your life shows that you appreciate that person very much.
2. RECOGNISE WHAT YOUR PARTNER DOES
Recognition is also a form of appreciation. When you recognise those things that your partner does for you even though it isn’t big or is done in silence then you’ve shown that you appreciate your partner.
3. SAY THANK YOU
Learn to say “thank you” to your partner for everything that’s done for you — whether big or little. Thank you is the simplest way you can show gratitude and appreciation to your partner.
4. TELL YOUR PARTNER OF THEIR GOOD QUALITIES
Telling your partner of their good qualities would put a smile on your partner’s face. Rather than constantly criticising your partner, tell them of the good things they do and the good qualities they have — this would surely make them feel appreciated.
5. INCLUDE THEM IN YOUR PLANS
When you make plans without letting your partner know, it shows that you probably don’t appreciate your partner enough. Including your partner in your plans show that you recognise your partner’s role in your life and that’s a way of showing appreciation.
6. PERFORM THEIR TASK SOMETIMES
Both partners have a role to play, but certain circumstances could make your partner unable to perform their tasks. You can appreciate your partner by performing their roles or tasks for them.
7. COMPLIMENTS
Compliments also show appreciation and everyone loves a good compliment. Compliment your partner regularly and your partner would feel appreciated. For example, ‘honey you looking beautiful in that dress’ can make your partner feel happy, loved, noticed and appreciated.
8. APPRECIATE THE LITTLE THINGS
The little things are what matters most. Learn to appreciate your partner for those little things; don’t wait till they do a huge thing for you. Those little sacrifices mean a lot.
9. Recognise your partner’s efforts, potential, qualities and how far your partner has come; this would definitely make your partner feel appreciated.
Learn to stop focusing on the negatives and complaining about the little things that hardly matter.
10. APPRECIATE YOUR PARTNER WITH A SMILE
Learn to appreciate your partner with a smile; when you add a smile, you make your appreciation seem genuine.
11. PRAISE YOUR PARTNER IN PRIVATE AND PUBLIC
When it’s just the two of you, you can praise your partner and you can also praise your partner when with a group of friends or family members. This would definitely make your partner feel appreciated.
If you don’t make your partner feel appreciated then you’re definitely steering your relationship the wrong direction.
