Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being and anyone can be depressed. Famous actor and comedian, Robin Williams committed suicide in 2014 due to depression and this is a subject that must be taken seriously. Todd Bridges statement of Robin Williams being selfish for committing suicide does nothing but insults the deceased, potentially cause more harm and reveal a staggering ignorance of mental health problems.

1. ITS LIKE YOU ARE LOSING YOUR MIND

Depression co-manifests with panic attacks, compulsive thoughts and habits, social phobia, and any number of other issues in fact it’s a shape-shifting mental disorder. When you are depressed, you are not crazy but simply sick and can get better.

2. YOU BECOME SICK OF EVERYONE

Everything annoys you when you re depressed even you will annoy you. When you are depressed, you tend to have a bad-temper that would even shock you sometimes and you shouldn’t be made to feel bad about it as it would make things worse.

3. MOST ADVICE YOU WOULD GET MIGHT BE UNHELPFUL

Most people are clueless when it comes to helping a depressed person, people often seem to think that saying things like ‘’just be happier’’ or ‘’don’t be depressed’’ are legitimate pieces of advice but the truth is that they are not.

4. DEPRESSED PEOPLE FEEL NO ONE LOVES THEM

Don’t tell yourself that lie if you feel depressed, fight that temptation. People around depressed people should try making them feel loved, let them know you are there for them.

You think you are alone in this world when you feel depressed but don’t buy into that thought.

Low esteem comes with depression. When you are depressed, you don’t feel good about yourself.

When you are depressed, your life feels boring. Try to distract yourself with anything that would make you forget the boredom even if it is for a while.

8. SIMPLE TASKS BECOMING OVERWHELMING

Tasks you normally perform with ease in the past suddenly become overwhelming and you start getting frustrated with yourself. Don’t hate yourself and try not to cry.

9. SOME FRIENDS MIGHT LEAVE

Some friends might get frustrated with you and leave. It is okay if they leave because they are not your friends. The friends that stick with you are the friends you need.

10. DEPRESSION AFFECTS YOUR SLEEP PATTERN

You can’t sleep when you want to and you find yourself sleeping when you don’t need to.
