Dehydration is simply the loss of water below normal level in the body. It can happen to anyone, hence the need to always stay hydrated.

There are so many things that are responsible for dehydration in people. For instance, we lose water in the body when we cry, sweat, pee, breathe, and even spit or poop.

Other causes of dehydration include fever (due to the high temperature), diarrhea, vomiting, diabetes, and excessive sweating.

Before we go into how to prevent dehydration, let us first go into its symptoms. How do you know you’re dehydrated? There are a lot of us who have no idea when and how it happens, so we’ll talk about its symptoms.

The most common ones include, thirst, dry/sticky mouth, not peeing much, dark yellow urine, dry cool skin, headaches, muscle cramps, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, sunken eyes, confusion, sleepiness, etc. If you experience any of those symptoms or more than just one of them, you should drink as much water as you can, and schedule an appointment with your doctor as quickly as possible.

Dehydration is dangerous, and can lead to death in extreme cases. That is why it’s advised that we take as much water as possible every time.

Drinking water or any other liquid is a sure way of arresting dehydration. But apart from water and liquids, there are fruits that you can eat to stay hydrated always. These fruits contain very decent amounts of water. I’m going to list them next for our information.

* Cucumber has about 96% water inside it.

* Watermelon has about 96% water. Its healthy for you.

* Pineapples contain 95% water.

* Lettuce has 95% water.

* Celery is 95% made of water.

* Tomatoes are 94% water.

* Melon is 89% water.

* Grapefruit is up to 90% water.

* Pear is about 92% water.

Consuming a lot of those fruits will go a long way in ensuring that dehydration is miles away from your health. Don’t forget to go see your doctor If you notice any of the aforementioned symptoms.
