The older you get, the better you should be as a person. When it’s the other way round, then you are wasting your life.
Every day should be spent adding value to your life. If you go 24 hours without adding value to your life, then you are living life the wrong way. Any day without value is a wasted day.
Build yourself up with these five things every day:
Be a man/woman of knowledge. The world is tilting towards entertainment and pleasures and the good old days of seeking knowledge is fast losing its grounds. Be interested in building your mind with the right knowledge. Your knowledge on the issues of life is what determines how your life will pan out. It’s safe to say that you are a reflection of what you know.
2. GOOD HABITS
As the years count and add up, grow older in good habits. Build good habits, develop sound habits, avoid things that will tarnish your mind. Feed your mind with the right things and do the right things.
3. GOOD MANNERS
Age doesn’t determine the maturity of a person, and it’s surprising to see older people exhibit bad manners when they ought to be role models to others. From the way you talk to how you relate with others and how you comport yourself, it’s easy to tell how good or bad your manners are.
Don’t just grow old without growing in good manners.
4. SOUND JUDGEMENT
Develop the sense of making the right decision and not making irrational decision. As you grow older, you should live by this rule: Think before you act, don’t act before you think.
5. LOVE FOR PEOPLE
Develop a deep love for people; be sensitive to how people feel, what they are passing through irrespective of whether you know them or not. If you are growing older without love then you are ageing foolishly.
Ask yourself this question: Have I been ageing the right way?
If you haven’t, it’s never too late to start doing the right thing.
