Love is a beautiful feeling only when you are loved back. It hurts so bad to love someone who doesn’t love you in return.
Below are 7 things you should do when you are in love with someone who doesn’t love you back
1. YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL THE OTHER PERSON
It hurts when you are not being loved in return but trying to bully or persuade the other person into loving you will only make things worse. When you find yourself in a situation where you love someone who doesn’t love you back, avoid the temptation of thinking you will make that person love you.
2. GIVE YOURSELF SPACE
You will keep hurting yourself if you continue to be around that person. Giving yourself space so you can move on is really important. Avoid every form of communication with the person so you don’t get constantly reminded of him or her.
3. YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOURSELF UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITHOUT THAT PERSON
Why continue to invest so much in someone who doesn’t love you back? No matter how great his or her personality is, you have no business investing your love in him or her when you could actually be happy with someone else. You have to look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself the truth – you are better off without that person.
4. AVOID SAYING MEAN THINGS TO THAT PERSON
Sometimes we try to move on from someone who doesn’t love us back by saying mean and hurtful things to that person. This is a wrong thing to do because trying saying mean things to that person or about that person to make yourself feel good will not help you move on. It will not help you heal and would rather leave you more bitter and angry.
5. DON’T SEEK WHO TO BLAME
The problem with seeking who to blame is that you hold yourself from healing. You should be more interested in healing and moving on. Instead of playing the blame card, you should focus on getting over him or her.
6. AVOID DOING THINGS THAT WILL MAKE YOU REMEMBER HIM OR HER
Put away things that remind you of him or her because you won’t heal if you are constantly reminded of him or her. So get rid of mementos because having them around will make it harder for you to heal. Also try distracting yourself with thoughts of him or her by keeping yourself busy. If unfriending the person on Facebook will help you avoid memory triggers, please unfriend him or her.
7. YOUR FRIENDS ARE REALLY IMPORTANT
It’s really important to have good friends as they will be a pillar for you during such moments. Being around your friends will help you heal faster. So don’t forget to spend quality time with friends and have real fun with them.
